MKS Technology provides Smart PDF Scanner, an Android application for scanning documents and working with PDF files. This Privacy Policy explains how the app uses device permissions, documents, and related information.

1. Camera Permission

Smart PDF Scanner requests access to your device camera so you can capture documents. You may manage or revoke this permission in Android settings. Camera permission is used to support document scanning.

2. Documents and Images

When you choose to scan, import, edit, merge, split, sign, save, or share a document, the app accesses and processes the files needed to perform that action. The app may create temporary files while processing documents.

3. Local Storage and File History

The app can save generated PDFs to your device and maintain local file-history information to help you find and manage saved documents. Files you choose to save remain subject to your device's storage and file-management controls.

4. Sharing Files

When you select the Share option, the app uses Android's sharing functionality to make the selected document available to the app or service you choose. The receiving service may handle your document under its own privacy policy.

5. Advertising and Analytics

The current version of Smart PDF Scanner does not include an advertising SDK. If advertising, analytics, or other third-party services are added later, this policy will be reviewed and updated before those changes are released, as appropriate.

6. Data Processing and Security

Document-processing features are designed to operate within the app. We aim to limit access to information required for the features you use. No method of storing or transmitting information can be guaranteed completely secure. Please take care when sharing sensitive documents with third-party apps or services.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

You can manage saved files through the app's file-management features and your device's file manager. Temporary or locally stored app data may be removed by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app, subject to Android's storage behavior. Files saved outside app-specific storage may remain on your device after uninstalling.

8. Children's Privacy

Smart PDF Scanner is a general-purpose document utility and is not specifically directed to children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app, its features, or applicable requirements. The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
